Al Jaber Group sponsor MEED's 2nd Power & Water Conference

Al Jaber Group was the lead sponsor for MEED's 2nd Middle East Power and Water Conference held from the 21st to 23rd of March 2005, at the Hilton Abu Dhabi.
"There has been a growing demand for power and water in the Middle East, governments seek creative and cost effective solutions to their utilities requirements creating significant opportunities for business within the industry," said Obaid Al Jaber, Chairman, Al Jaber Group. "More major international companies recognize the massive potential that this dynamic, constantly expanding and developing market represents."
"We are pleased to be able to contribute to the industry and be among our partners and clients such as ADWEA and Union Water & Electricity Company. This was our first involvement with MEED's Power & Water Conference; it presented a great opportunity for our company to network with the new participants in the segment," added Al Jaber.
A key and active player in the Power & Water industry is Al Jaber Energy Services division. Focusing on pipelines and power stations, oil, gas and petrochemicals, the division was recently awarded an EPC contract for the Al Wathba pipeline and Mussafah Pumping Station valued at AED185 million. The contract included the supply and installation of pumps at Mussafah Pumping Station, as well as the laying of the pipeline from Mussafah to Al Wathba. Adding to its project portfolio, Al Jaber Energy Services has also just completed (in consortium with Technip) the Fujairah-Al Ain water transmission pipeline for UAE's Offset Group, a USD 650 million project.
The 2nd Middle East Power and Water was sponsored by Al Jaber Group and organised by the publishers of MEED, a well established source of strategic and accurate regional information. The event featured various high calibre speakers from leading industry organizations and the exhibitor list included the likes of General Electric, AON, ABB, Charles River Associates, Contax and Krah.
