DCCI holds seminar on investment opportunities in Angola

The seminar's objective is to highlight the Angolan potential capacities and investment opportunities and providing introduction on the foreign investment protection and business environment. Also providing the opportunity for exploring the investment opportunities in fields of agriculture, cattle, contraction, infrastructure, geology, mining (gold, diamond, marble, granite), health industry, education, transportation, energy and water, tourism, and financial system (insurance and banking) .

The meeting attended by Mr. Abdulrahman Saif Al Ghurair the first vice president of DCCI, Mr. Abdulrahman G. Al Mutaiwee Director General, Tariq H. Lootah Director of Trade and Industrial Development, Sultan Majed manager of business promotion and businessmen from both sides.

Mr. Roi Jorge Carnero Mangueira Consul General of Republic of Angola appreciated DCCI in holding this seminar and expressed his optimism in achieving and meeting the both sides ambition in enhancing and strengthens the relationship and creating investments links for the business men in the two countries.

Mr. Al Ghurair pointed during his speech the noticeable grow in the relationship between two sides He said " The relations between Dubai and Angola are witnessing noticeable growth, the non oil bilateral trade between the two sides increased sharply in 2003 to 193 million Dirhams against 46 million Dirham in the year 2000, achieving an increase of 320 percent in just 4 years. He added "We consider this seminar an advanced step towards promoting business relations, investments and stronger economic cooperation between Dubai and Angola"

Mr. Al Ghurair expressed DCCI readiness in supporting the consulate he said" DCCI is ready to work closely and effectively with the Consulate General of Angola in Dubai and specialized business promotion agencies in Angola to achieve better results in our bilateral trade, flow of investment in joint ventures projects and direct investment in our two countries.

H.E. Mr. Aguinaldo Jaime, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Angola delivered his speech on Angola Political and Geographic Development for the Next Year 2006. He showcased the wide spectrum of natural sources and raw materials in Angola and explained the government efforts in economic and structural reforms to develop the country, challenges faces the country in the past. H.E. Jaime showcased the success of the government in attracting foreign investments include foreign banks, local and foreign money capital to develop different projects.

Mr. Laurence Clark the Representative of World Bank in Angola made a presentation showcasing Angola, Recent Performance and trend, recent economic and Structural reforms, Key medium term challenges, World Bank Group effort in helping the economy and Angola as current and future business destination.
