Sheikh Hamdan approves drainage projects worth Dhs66 million

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry and Chairman of Dubai Municipality, has approved four drainage projects worth Dhs66.12 million that will help enhance the drainage and irrigation net-work of the emirate and dispose the waste water safely.
"The new drainage projects will help the emirate cope with its growing needs for drainage and sewage networks thereby ensuring a safe disposal of the waste water and its treatment for using in irrigating the city's greenery. These projects will meet our existing and future demands," said Mr. Sultan.
He added that the new projects, approved by Sheikh Hamdan, include a Dhs62.92 million project for constructing drainage and storm water networks for Al Warqa 2 Area which comprises sewerage collection network, surface water drainage network, house connections, inspection chambers, road crossings and connection of the new system to the existing system. The project will be completed in 20 months.
The second project, approved by the Dubai Municipality chairman, is a Dhs3.2 million project for providing irrigation system and all other associated works and it will be undertaken within three months.
