Oil drops below USD54

Oil prices retreated below USD54 a barrel in trading yesterday on a report of high US crude inventories and a strengthening US dollar. US light crude dropped USD2.39 to USD53.50 a barrel, while London Brent was down USD1.69 at USD52.90 a barrel.
