Jumbo Electronics on an expansion spree

Inaugurated on the evening of 30th April 2002, it is located on the Beach Road in Jumeriah. An upmarket and an exclusive locality, this outlet is expected to generate interest amongst the residents. They will now have the opportunity to experience a wide array of products across a slew of leading international brands, right at their doorstep.

This is part of an ongoing strategy to expand the retail presence of Jumbo from the current 32 to 50 by the end of the year 2003. This, it is hoped will provide customers the convenience to experience a wide portfolio of brands at their doorsteps in addition to further strengthening Jumbo's role in the supply chain by providing manufacturers and brands, increased access to customers and markets.

According to Mr. Vishesh L Bhatia, Chief Operating Officer, Jumbo Electronics Co. Ltd. (L.L.C), "Customers are constantly on the look out for greater convenience, higher levels of service, better selection of brands and increased information. And this is a step forward for us in this direction of customer satisfaction."

With more than 1.5 million footfalls every year, Jumbo retail is a world by itself. Customer orientation is hence critical to the success of an operation of this size.

Jumbo, over the years has maintained its leadership position in the Middle East through value added services like Jumbo warranties, product demonstrations, customer friendly service, knowledgeable staff and innovative and flexible payment options. Jumbo's international warranty is an exception as it extends to the Indian subcontinent, Iran, Egypt and many other countries besides the UAE.

To gear up for the future challenges, internal processes are being redesigned and staff is being trained to "Think Customer". Innovations like the mystery shopper are being deployed for the first time.

With a total retail space of over 80,000 sq. ft and a team strength of more than 220 people, which is expected to cross 300, these are naturally thrust areas for us.
