DCCI receives Greek delegation

Mr. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) received Greek trade delegation headed by Mrs. Jarrey Fallo Director General of the Hellenic Foreign Trade Board.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee welcomed the delegation in his speech and highlighted the progressive business relations between Dubai and Greece he said " the bilateral trade between Dubai and Greece reached about 100 million Euro in 2004 compared with 98 million Euro in 2003 registering a slight increase" he added " it is not representing the large exportable potentials of the two countries".
He exposed the necessity of boosting the non oil cooperation through promotional and marketing efforts by companies and government authorities in both sides and exchanging missions and delegations as well as participating in the international exhibitions and trade fairs in both countries to enhance the mutual non oil trade volume.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee showcased Dubai facilities for the investors he said" Dubai offers entrepreneurs and investors attractive package of incentives precisely, excellent tax free economic system, modern and integrated infrastructure, stable fiscal polices, strong currency, security and unbeatable lifestyle" he added " these elements have increased number of regional and international corporate to set up businesses in Dubai.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee invited the Greek entrepreneurs and investors to take the advantage of the competitive business environment of Dubai by establishing production and distribution centers to supply the UAE, Gulf region, some parts of central Asia and East Africa a region which considered a consumer oriented with over 1.5 billion consumers.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee expressed DCCI readiness in supporting the Greek business community by providing the possible facilities of DCCI in order to encourage the investments in joint ventures projects and direct investment between the two countries.
DCCI received as well received Mr. Christopher M. T. Thompson the chairman of World Gold Council (WGC) and Mr. James E. Burton Chief Executive officer. Mr. Abdul Rahman Al Mutaiwee and Mr. Sultan Lootah searched and discussed with WGC officials the possible ways of enhancing the relationship between DCCI and WGC.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee indicated the growth of gold and jewelry sector in Dubai. It's now a leading city in importing and exporting gold on an international level. And well known as the city of gold world wide. He indicated Dubai government interest in developing the gold sector mentioning it establish Dubai Metal and Products center to enhance Dubai's caliber as international center for trading and manufacturing gold.
President of WGC appreciated Dubai government initiatives that aim to develop the gold markets in Dubai by offering new opportunities for the specialized companies to keep the emirate as a leading city on international level in manufacturing gold.
Mr. Al Mutaiwee expressed DCCI readiness in supporting the WGC and all the authorities that supports Dubai role as regional and international hub for trading, investment, tourism, financial and business.
