Sakhr Software Co., the leading Arabic language IT company announced that it will commence its robust project for providing the Supreme Council for the Environment and Natural reserves in Qatar (www.qatarenv.org) with Sakhr solutions in an effort to assist the Council on its path towards achieving the "paperless office," and in an effort to automate and develop the Council's services in keeping with the spirit of the Qatari e-government initiative.
"We have decided to adopt Sakhr's solutions to complete the technical infrastructure to develop the Council's online activities, in keeping with the Council's environmental policies," commented Mr. Mubarak Khalifa Al-Dosari - Director of National center of Environmental Information (NCEI, SCENR), Qatar. He added, "Our plans are very ambitious. We hope to build a highly advanced portal that fulfills the needs of this era, one which takes into consideration the latest technological global trends and which falls within the spirit of the e-government initiative of Qatar. We have found that Sakhr technologies and solutions have the necessary features to fulfill all of our requirements, and which help us build an exceptional web portal befitting the Council and its noble cause."
According to the contract, SCENR will replace the traditional method of processing its operations and relations with its clients with a new, advanced method. This will include automating services for the general public, assisting public users to initiate and monitor their requests and facilitating communication between public users and SCENR employees. The new method will be based on modern applications and advanced procedures to generate reports which will manage the administrative functions of SCENR, improve the decision-making process, the formulation and implementation of policies by allowing analysis of information from different sources.
The project also involves developing and operating an online services network for the Council within the robust, technologically advanced, seamlessly integrated web portal which will cover all the activities and services offered by SCENR.
"We are fully aware of the major developments Qatar has witnessed in forging ahead with its e-government plans. The system chosen by the Supreme Council for the Environment & Natural Reserves in Qatar will provide them with solutions of the highest international standards and will be based on Sakhr's leading technologies in the field of archiving systems, portals and bilingual search engines," commented Mr. Moatasem Mohaisen, Regional Director - Gulf, Sakhr Software Co, from Dubai. He added, "Qatar has always been outstanding within the region, leading the way, from internet use to the protection of the environment, it is for this reason that the system adopted by the SCENR will provide the Council with a fully integrated, comprehensive solution to all its online activities on the one hand, while also offering expansion capability on the other."
