A particular point of attraction was the picturesque 4,400 sqft stand of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing in Hall 22 with the presence of 80 partners from the Emirate.

The German market has become an increasingly interesting target for the Dubai's tourism industry. According to the preliminary figures published by the DTCM, 236,324 Germans booked into the emirate's hotels last year, which is an increase of 51 per cent as compared to 2003.

Frau Mara Kaselitz, Director of the DTCM in Frankfurt, told AME Info at the ITB: 'We had a very good start into 2005, too, with hotel bookings going up and up.

'The Germans very much appreciate the peaceful and secure atmosphere of the emirate, the high standard of the hotels and leisure facilities and the great hospitality everywhere.'

During the ITB, Ghorfa, the Arab-German Trade Association, held its 7th Arab-German Tourism Forum with high-ranking government officials and travel professionals from both sides taking part.
