CO-OP ISLAMI launches the second Knowledge Circle Forum

Under the Patronage of H.E Qassim Sultan, Director of Dubai Municipality, CO-OP ISLAMI has opened today the 2nd Knowledge Circle Forum.

This forum is set to become an annual event that aims at sharing knowledge and experiences concerning the most recent critical issues that directly impact the global food and retail business industries.

Following the first knowledge forum launched by CO-OP ISLAMI in 2004, the 2nd Knowledge Circle Forum takes place today at Mina Al Salam Hotel, in the presence of officials and representatives from international companies and industry leaders.

Saleh Abdulla Lootah, Chief Executive Officer - CO-OP ISLAMI, said: "The forum is aimed at exchanging expertise and knowledge between market players on the local and international scenes. Such activities would help us gain from the experiences of companies working in the food production sector and retail business throughout the world."

The forum, which was first launched in 2004 by CO-OP ISLAMI, contributed to boosting the strategic plans and efforts in the market. Saleh added: "As part of CO-OP ISLAMI plans to maintain and develop quality for customers on all levels, we have launched this initiative to exchange expertise and knowledge with others and improve and develop the industry performance. The activity proved successful with the increase in participation of companies from the local market and overseas."

Saleh Lootah concluded: "Companies operating in the market should be aware of the mistakes made by others. The event is an evolving process reflecting the new trends and issues greatly impacting the industry's consumers."

Establishing CO-OP ISLAMI came into being as a result of long relentless efforts commenced in the early seventies when Hajj Saied Bin Ahmad Lootah instituted Dubai Cooperative Society. Since it was initially launched, Dubai Cooperative Society was immersed in hard works to establish the principles of commercial dealings. Later on, 1981 came to mark a changing history of Dubai Cooperative Society established "CO-OP ISLAMI" for the purpose making real Halal food available for consumers through legal Islamic Supervision on all meat products imported from outside UAE.
