Etisalat launches 'Najm' premium mobile package

  • United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 03 - 2005 at 14:56
  • PRESS RELEASE

NAJM is the first package to be launched by Etisalat as part of the leading telecom provider's sweeping initiative to introduce mobile services tailored to specific customer needs.

NAJM, translated as 'Star' in English, is a postpaid mobile package designed for Etisalat's premium customers. NAJM offers choice combined with exclusive new features.

"NAJM embodies Etisalat's commitment to its customers—a company determined to achieve the highest standards of service and performance," said Mohammad Hassan Omran, Etisalat CEO.

"Customers have always trusted our programs and services, but this new service will add further value to the calling experience—there are more options, more plans and more features applicable to their lifestyles. NAJM is a shining example of our continued efforts to address customer needs," Mr Omran said.

The debut of the exclusive NAJM package means that for the first time in the United Arab Emirates, customers will be able to select a plan tailored to their calling needs. NAJM customers may choose among three minute-based calling plans.

Each plan includes subscriptions to MMS, AL Mersal Voice Mail, and Call Waiting services. Customers also have the option to purchase additional bundles of SMS and to rent VIP numbers for a monthly fee.

"Our customers tell us they want more convenience, more personalised service and mobile plans that are distinctly their own," according to Mohammed Al Fahim, Executive VP of Marketing for Etisalat. "The NAJM customer will be able to speak for as long as they like, assured that they are receiving good value on the minute plan they have chosen."

Also for the first time in the UAE, NAJM customers will have the option to select their own VIP number for an additional monthly rental. VIP numbers will be classified as Platinum, Gold, or Silver with a different monthly rental for each classification. This innovative option is designed to satisfy the rising demand for numbers that have personal significance to subscribers and is expected to be widely popular with those who consider their mobile number an extension of their own personal style and identity.

"We expect the choice for what are often called 'good numbers' will represent a unique feature to many phone users who are used to a lifestyle marked by privilege and first class amenities, "Mr. Al Fahim noted.

Etisalat will also introduce the NAJM Privilege Card, which provides NAJM subscribers exclusive access to a dedicated customer care number (800 NAJM). The dedicated customer care team will deliver unprecedented levels of service to NAJM customers. Since customers in the UAE are sophisticated and expect higher levels of customer service, this will be a key component of the NAJM experience.

In the past few months, Etisalat carried out extensive market research in order to design a service for the high-end customer segment. The NAJM package is customised for this segment, which is composed of customers who make a substantial number of local calls and value premium service.

"NAJM is not for everyone. The package is designed to attract a selective and distinguished segment of the overall market," Mr. Al Fahim said. "We have aimed NAJM at those customers who will settle for nothing but the best."

"The NAJM package is the first of many new exciting services from Etisalat," Mr. Al Fahim said. "With NAJM, Etisalat will continue to lead the way with offerings tailored specifically to the needs of our customers."

NAJM packages are offered through Etisalat Business Centres.
