New Director of Food and Beverage at the InterContinental Dubai

The InterContinental Dubai has appointed a new Director of Food and Beverage, Scott Murray.

Scott Murray transferred from the Banyan Tree, Bangkok where he held the position of Executive Assistant Manager, in charge of Food and Beverage, overseeing the overall operation of the hotel with a focus on Food and Beverage.

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Scott Murray brings to InterContinental Dubai his extensive experience in operational food and beverage management in the leading hospitality industry in Asia-Pacific. This includes over ten years in senior management positions with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and other 5-star leading hotel chains.

Scott Murray joined the InterContinental Hotels Group in 1996 as a Trainee in InterContinental Sydney, then moved to the InterContinental Singapore to continue his hospitality path in food and beverage. He then worked for a leading 5 -star hotel in London, followed by 3 years in Sydney before leaving for his previous position as EAM - F&B in Bangkok, where he stayed for 3 years.

He rejoins the InterContinental Hotels Group in April 2005 as Director of Food and Beverage for the InterContinental Dubai where he is going to be in charge of 10 restaurants, 3 bars, 1 dhow and a cake shop as well as banqueting operations.

His main goal as Director of Food and Beverage of InterContinental Dubai is to sustain and further advance existing F&B concepts and firmly establish the InterContinental Dubai as the dining destination of choice in Dubai.

Murray is very keen on continuing to drive the Food and Beverage reputation of the hotel forward by focusing upon delivering the best quality in service and standards through the existing Food and Beverage team and by further strengthening it.

Scott Murray is married with a 9 month old baby boy. Both wife and baby have joined him in Dubai.
