DCCI receives Romanian Commercial Delegation

Mr. Abdulrahman Saif Al Ghurair the first Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) received a Romanian Delegation headed by HE Mr. Mircea Ursache.

Mr. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee Director General of DCCI and Sultan Majed Lootah manager of business promotion attended the meeting.

Mr. Al Ghurair welcomed the delegates and expressed his hope to expand the value of cooperation between the two countries. In his speech Mr. Al Ghurair explained the wide spectrum of opportunities which exist in Dubai for the Romanian companies in trading, export, tour operators, travel, transport, consultancy services and many other business opportunities.

Mr. Al Ghurair indicated the possibilities of increasing the bilateral trade between Dubai and Romania and the economic cooperation through the promotional & marketing efforts by the companies, institutions and agencies. As well as exchanging commercial delegations & missions and taking part in the international exhibitions and trade fairs held in Dubai and Romania.

Mr. Al Ghurair assured Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry readiness to cooperate with Romanian Invest Forum to achieve better results in the bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation.

The total bilateral trade between Dubai and Romania increased from 140 million Dirhams to 219 million Dirhams in 1999.

Beside that Mr. Abdul Rahman G. Al Mutaiwee received Dr. Mohammed Hamood Alwadan Vice Chairman of Yemen Free Zone Public Authority (YFZPA), chairman of Aden Free Zone Authority and Mr. Salem Ahmed councilor in the Consulate General of the Republic of Yemen.

The meeting discussed ways of enhancing and strengthens the relationship between two countries, the future potentials for linking and communicating between the business communities in both sides. Developing the mutual cooperation and coordinating relationship between DCCI and YFZPA.

Dr. Alwadan appreciated the excellent relationship on the governmental and commercial levels and Dubai's important role in supplying Yemen with goods. He mentioned the very good connection between Dubai and Yemen with several daily direct and non direct flights.

Dr. Alwadan showcased the Free Zones role in Yemen in mainly Aden Free Zone. Explaining the facilities offered to the companies and the expansion plans and ways of cooperation between the two organizations.

DCCI received an invitation to visit Aden Free Zone to get a closer look on YFZPA. On the other side Mr. Al Mutaiwee suggested organizing a seminar to promote the business opportunities in Yemen and the UAE.

Mr. Al Mutaiwee expressed Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry readiness to extend all possible facilities and cooperate with Yemen business community in organizing this event in Dubai and to promote commerce and investment in the two countries.
