The gulfBID will be an annual trade show that will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Centre and the first event will take place from 16th to 18th May 2006. The event will be organised by Al Hilal Conferences & Exhibitions and dmg world media Dubai Ltd. and is actively supported by the Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

gulfBID fills an important gap in Bahrain's event calendar and will provide an excellent annual forum for the building, construction and interior designer industries and trading companies to source for new building materials, furniture and furnishing services that are available around the world. The event will also be an excellent annual forum for information exchange, networking and to obtain regular information on new trends and developments in the global building and construction and interiors industry.

The Kingdom of Bahrain is the ideal place for this event and the Ministry of Industry & Commerce appreciates the commitment and vision of the co-operation partners who have chosen Bahrain because of its favorable geographic location and easy access to the booming markets in the Northern Gulf.

The GCC countries and the entire Middle East region are currently experiencing a massive construction boom and therefore the timing is perfect for the launching of gulfBID, which will attract especially all experts and buyers from the Northern Gulf, in particular from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar and other fast growing economies in the region.

gulfBID is also a further milestone in the development of Bahrain's position as a world-class exhibition destination and it is clearly a testimony for the Kingdom of Bahrain's growing importance as a marketing platform and springboard to the economies in the region.

The Kingdom of Bahrain has a long-standing reputation as a regional business hub and gateway to the Middle East market and it offers excellent business infrastructure with world-class communication facilities, conventional and Islamic banking and financial services, comprehensive technical expertise and consultants in all fields related to the building and construction industry.

The cooperation between the Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau and the Al Hilal Group and dmg world media Dubai Ltd clearly demonstrates that close cooperation between public and private sector organizations across national borders will generate substantial benefits for all parties concerned.

Therefore, the Ministry of Industry & Commerce is very keen to further develop the activities of the Bahrain Convention & Exhibition Bureau and is fully committed to the development of a comprehensive program of professional trade shows organized in cooperation with local and international cooperation partners. International trade shows have an immense impact on the economic development and the Ministry of Industry & Commerce sees it as one of its top priorities to develop this business sector in order to create more business opportunities and jobs for the further development and a sustainable future for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
