The roadshow, presently live at Plug-Inns showroom in Deira City Centre mall (DCC) until the 8th of April 2005, will also travel to Plug-Inns outlet in Abu Dhabi's Marina Mall from the 8th until the 15th of April 2005. The next stop will be Virgin MegaStores and Eros Electronics outlets in DCC from mid-April onwards.
Mr. Makarand Phadke, Sales and Marketing Manager - Consumer Electronics division, SGE said, 'The response to the roadshow has been overwhelming. Customers have been 'wowed' by the ability of the credit card-sized 'Miniket' camcorder to pack loads of functions into a single device, which enables them to take video footage and digital still images one minute and give them the ability to listen to MP3 music and store computer files the next. All this is a clear testimony of the growing adoption of digital technology in the UAE and how consumers appreciate Samsung's cutting-edge digital innovation.'
Weighing in at just 150 grams, including the battery, the MPEG-4 AVI camcorder features one-button capture, a 10x digital zoom and an 800K movie-optimized CCD. For still photography it offers an 800 x 600 SVGA resolution, and has an onboard flash with PictBridge™ for direct printing.
The Miniket incorporates a built-in 1GB flash memory, and is capable of recording up to 60 minutes of high-quality video, 240 MP3 songs or 18 hours of voice recordings. Furthermore, it also accommodates a memory stick pro slot for added storage capacity, making it easy to transfer files back and forth between the memory stick and its built-in memory. The camcorder also connects to a PC via USB 2.0. In addition to transferring files, this also enables it to turn into an instant web camera.
