  • PRESS RELEASE

Expo Centre Sharjah is set to participate in the 10th Beijing Essen Welding and Cutting Fair to be held at Shanghai Ever Bright Convention and Exhibition Centre from May 25 to 28, 2005.

"We are currently expanding our B2B shows and see China as an important
market and trade partner with the Middle East," said Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan,
Acting Director General, Expo Centre Sharjah.

"The welding and cutting requirements in the Middle East are increasing with
the growth in the steel fabrication industry and the Chinese manufacturers
will be very interested in this market."

"Our participation in the Beijing Essen is to invite Chinese exhibitors to
the SteelFab exhibition, the second edition of which is to be held from
January 22 to 24, 2006, at Expo Centre Sharjah," he explained.

SteelFab is the only trade show in the Middle East dedicated to the display
of steel, surface preparation, welding & cutting, machinery & tools,
finishing & testing, coatings & anti-corrosion and allied equipment and
systems for the steel working industry.

The first edition of the show was held in October 2004 and was a great
success with exhibitors receiving enquiries and queries from over 2,700
quality visitors from all over the Middle East.

"Beijing Essen Welding is a truly international event as it is co-sponsored
by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Welding Institution of CMES,
Chinese Welding Association, German Welding Society and Messe Essen GmbH. It
also enjoys the support of the American Welding Society, the Korea Welding
Industry Cooperative and the Japan Welding Engineering Society."

"The show is considered to be the second largest welding show in the world
and is expected to cover 33000 square metres of floor space," added Mr.
Khan.

"We will be actively promoting participation at SteelFab during our visit to
China and the local steel fabrication industry can look forward to a Chinese
pavilion of welding and cutting manufacturers at SteelFab 2006 at Expo
Centre Sharjah," he concluded.
