Marketing research to evaluate the tourism sector of Sharjah

As part of its continuous efforts to develop the tourism sector of Sharjah, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), started a new marketing research project for the tourism sector of Sharjah.

Mr. Mohamed A. Al Noman, Director of SCTDA, signed the new project's contract with a leading international marketing research company.

The main objective of this project is to prepare a thorough and detailed assessment of tourist and other Emirate visitors to Sharjah for the purpose of making certain decisions and investments concerning the strategic development and marketing of Sharjah's tourism infrastructure.

In details the new, three months, marketing research project will tackle the following issues:

• To conduct primary research within the three core tourist segments (UAE visitors / GCC visitors / Foreign International visitors)

• To determine key profile attributes and desires and provide market segmentation output

• To provide analysis, commentary and interpretation of the findings

• To provide clear recommendations and conclusions concerning future

• growth, market trends and tourist desires

"Setting ourselves for new standers, will help developing the tourism sector of Sharjah. This project means that we will know more about our product. It will give us a very clear view on how to drive our business in the next upcoming five years plan" says Al Noman in his comment on the new project.
