Samsung launches advanced LCD monitor, SyncMaster 173P plus
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, April 10 - 2005 at 14:39
- PRESS RELEASE
Samsung Electronics, global and regional TFT-LCD technology leader, has unveiled its 17" model, SyncMaster 173P plus, rated as the most advanced liquid crystal display computer monitor in Middle East.
The new LCD monitor model boasts the highest contrast ratio in the world (1500:1), enabling a clearer display of vivid images. Along with its proprietary MagicColor engine, this monitor creates perfect color displays that can be configured to each user's personal preferences.
"The embodiment of the world's first highest contrast ratio of 1500:1 and fastest response time (8ms, G to G) combined is Samsung's great achievement. This new achievement is recognized as the LCD monitor industry's big step forward," said Mr. K. H. Koh, General Manager, Samsung Gulf Electronics.
Contrast ratio is the difference between the visual display of the screen at its brightest and at its darkest. The higher index number indicates better image clarity. Currently the average contrast ratio of a typical 17-inch LCD monitor is around 400:1 to 500:1. The SyncMaster 173P plus also excels in performance. Its fast response time (8ms) ensures a smooth playback of even the most action-packed visual images, such as DVDs and video games.
The monitor provides a clear and sharp image with its brightness (270cd/m2) and wide viewing angle (178 degrees) offering maximum resolution of 1,280 by 1,024 pixels. The 173P plus has both analog and digital inputs.
Furthermore, MagicPivot automatically senses the current pivot location and adjusts the screen angle to a full 180 degrees of rotation, making it the most flexible pivoting control function ever created. Its ability to easily adjust height, swivel, and tilt, makes the SyncMaster 173P plus monitor a very user-friendly product.
