- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) announced the launch of a dedicated website for its prestigious Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MRM) Business Award allowing business firms in the UAE to register online for the country's leading business award aimed to boost business excellence and enterprise.
The website will provide links to key elements of the Award process including from the timeline, selection criteria, eligibility and scope, application procedure, process of nomination and selection to the benefits awarded to the winning firms. The closing date for receiving applications is 15th June 2005.
Among the highlights is the segment on the BHP model, a high performance business model drawn up by international management consultants for the Award process. The unique model draws on a variety of worldwide organizational practices that contribute to excellence in business performance.
In addition to the website, DCCI has set up an exclusive call centre manned by a dedicated team of trained personnel who work around the clock. Customers call up toll free number, xx, to obtain information and get their queries answered.
Launched in January 2005, The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award aims to recognise and promote excellence in the UAE business sector by rewarding and encouraging the best performing local business organisations which have contributed towards the economic growth of the emirates.
The Award covers four key categories of business namely industry, finance, export and re-export, recognised as key drivers of the country's future growth and development. Currently limited to the UAE, the scope of the contest will be extended to include the region at a later stage.
The participants have to meet a set of general and specific criteria in order to be short listed for assessment. The latter involves a thorough examination of all aspects for the businesses and will involve on and off site analysis. The final stage will see the successful nominees endorsed by a selection committee comprising national and international experts. Marking the grand finale will be a gala ceremony which will announce and award the top-most achievers in the four select categories.
