Holiday Inn Downtown Dubai gets new sales incentive with Samia Khan heading the team

InterContinental Hotels Group, the world's most global hotel company, announced today that Samia Khan has been appointed director of sales at the Holiday Inn Down Town Dubai.

In her new role, Khan - who is fluent in three languages including English, Hindi and Urdu - will be responsible for the growth and development of the hotel's sales department.

To achieve her goals, Khan will draw on her extensive regional experience. With a proven track record in the sales and marketing sector - in both Dubai and Bahrain - Khan will rely on the experience she has gained in her previous role as senior sales manager to bolster the performance of the Holiday Inn Down Town Dubai's sales department.

Discussing the appointment, Denis Johnson, vice president, sales and marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa, said: "Dubai is such a vibrant market and it is wonderful to have Samia helping to further ignite the success of InterContinental Hotels Group. We are thrilled to appoint Samia to this role."

Dedicated to furthering her skills and experience, Khan completed a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1999 (MBA) specialising in marketing from the Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) in Bombay, India having already received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from Bombay University in India.

"The competitiveness in Dubai's sales sector continues to increase and that makes it a really interesting place to work. I am so pleased to be appointed to this new role at what is one of Dubai's most central and exciting properties," said Khan.

The hotel, which caters to travellers seeking luxury, offers executive floors and almost 140 rooms. Ideal for business meetings, the hotel has two meeting rooms that can cater between 5 and 80 people.
