Honeywell sponsors Project Management Institute Arabian Gulf Chapter's meet

Honeywell (NYSE: HON), a global, leading provider of products and services for the oil and gas and energy sectors, recently sponsored Project Management Institute (PMI) Arabian Gulf Chapter's meet in Abu Dhabi.

At the event, which was held at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel, a presentation on how to be a successful negotiator was made by a professional management consultant.

"Such industry meets are valuable especially in our region, the Middle East, where business processes are seeing tremendous growth. We at Honeywell are more than happy to be part of these events which are highly successful and attract a targeted audience," said Hussain Al Atrakchi, Regional General Manager and Executive Director of Honeywell Middle East.

The presentation, which was organized by PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter, attracted 120 project managers and engineers from the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Egypt. The PMI Arabian Gulf Chapter was set-up in December 1992 with the minimum requirement of 25 members. It currently has 3000 members from all over the GCC countries.

The event was also attended by some Honeywell executives. Commenting on the presentation David Beard, Business Development Manager for Honeywell Process Solutions said, "The speaker covered some interesting facts, on marketing to industry sectors that employ engineers due to technical knowledge and know-how, it was indeed very market focused and informative."

The presenter Ghassan Nakfoor, holding a masters degree from California State University, is a partner at MEIRC Training and Consulting firm in Dubai.

Honeywell is a strong supporter of other NGO organizations such as the Fieldbus Foundation and last year sponsored the groups first Middle East meeting in Bahrain.

Commenting on the event Adel Mohamed Al Hammadi, Director PMI-AGC Abu Dhabi said, "The presentation was a huge success for PMI-AGC with maximum attendance and the topic stimulated a very interactive evening with the audience participation."
