H.H General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence felicitated 60 graduates of the Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development at a ceremony held at the Emirates Towers Hotel. The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and representatives of international companies.

H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed said, 'We care about developing the sills of young leaders as we firmly believe that human resource is one of the most important assets and one that plays a vital role in realizing our ambitions and protecting the well being and stability of the coming generations.'

His Highness added, 'In today's world, the ability to take the initiative, creativity and well qualified human resources are considered the basic factors which many countries and institutions rely on for development. Therefore we want to make sure that qualifying and training human resources is our priority following the vision of H.H Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. We believe that qualified young leaders are the corner stone for the country's progress.'

H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed said, 'This group of distinguished young men and women symbolize a generation of leaders and we look forward to having them actively participate in the future development of this country. We firmly believe that our sons and daughters are capable of contributing in the development process and that they will be able to add to our achievements, which will uphold and enhance the status of this country in the regional and international spheres.'

H.E. Mohammed Al Gergawi, General Secretary of Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development said, 'It was by the directives of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum that the scope of this programme was broadened to accommodate the largest number of national young leaders from the private and public sectors, as His Highness firmly believes in the importance of having a qualified human resource in order to further support the vast development that the UAE is witnessing.'

Al Gergawi added, 'The Mohammed bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development which was launched in 2003 has achieved tremendous success. In this programme, we have witnessed the dedication and commitment of the young participating delegates to develop their leadership skills. We will continue to work on improving the programme to match the ambitious strategic goals of UAE.'
