A regular at MOTEXHA, Turkey is well-recognised among trade visitors to be a prime sourcing hub for clothing, leather and textiles.
The 500 square metre Turkey Pavilion is the show's biggest to date housing 20 textile, leather and fashion brands. Brands include Santana, Ceyo, Atak, Zandar Shoes, Ozdoku and UC-EL, Plastab, Ferudun in the leather segment, Janine and Angel's Story women's wear.

In 2004, Turkey's leather footwear, handbags and accessories exports totalled approximately US$ 150 million and apparel exports were US$ 7.5 billion. In the same period, Turkish leather footwear, handbags and accessories exports to the Middle East were US$ 40 million. Exports to the UAE have grown by 200 per cent, with lucrative contracts signed during MOTEXHA directly contributing to the increase.

Said Aziz Ercan ?EL?KL?, Deputy Secretary General, AEGEAN Exporter's Association (Undersecretariat for Foreign Trade), "For Turkish companies targeting the Middle East fashion market, MOTEXHA is regarded as the 'must attend' event to market their products to the greater Middle East and to develop business opportunities in this region. At this year's Spring edition, 20 companies are exhibiting products ranging from leather footwear, handbags to accessories and ladies' apparel. MOTEXHA provides the ideal platform to penetrate a number of regional markets in one place at one time."

"The Middle East has a growing share of Turkey's leather, textile and apparel exports. We expect this to increase four to five fold within the next five years," he added.

Turkey is one of the largest exporters of leather products in the world. Other advantages which make Turkey the right place for importers/ sourcing decision makers looking to meet suppliers of quality products at competitive prices include self sufficient raw material source (sheep skin, cotton), modern and powerful infrastructure, relatively cheap, flexible and qualified labour, geographical proximity to most Middle East market and liberal foreign exchange regulations.
