This approach saw the execution of a meeting this week in London, where companies had the opportunity to meet with representatives from the Iraq Development Program and the world's leading experts on business facilitation in Iraq.

The meeting, which took place in a central London location on Monday 11 April, was open to a select number of companies and exceeded all expectations in terms of success, providing invaluable insight into how best to carry out activities in Iraq.

The meeting began at 2pm at a central London hotel with a briefing from one of the most knowledgeable private sector individuals on current-day events and issues related to the economic and political reconstruction of Iraq.

The briefing was followed by a question and answer session before a series of breakout meetings took place, with companies holding private business consultations with the experts present.

'I found the meeting to be useful, informative and constructive,' said a representative from SGB Group, a leading supplier of access, forming and shoring products and services. 'We were very impressed with the experts present, their knowledge, experience and most importantly their understanding of how business should be conducted.

'I feel that through my involvement in the meeting I have located a conduit for facilitating business in Iraq,' he added.

The meeting in London served as a precursor to the Iraq Development Program's inaugural summit, which is set to take place in Amman, Jordan on 28-30 June 2005.
