The forum, which has developed in to the annual prime event in German-Arab business relations in the course of the past eight years, is organised by Ghorfa, the umbrella organisation of the German Chambers of Trade and Industry DIHK and the General Union of Arab Trade Chambers.

The patron will be Germany's Economics Minister, Herr Wolfgang Clement. The organisers expect more than 700 participants from all Arab countries and Germany.

After the United Arab Emirates in 2004, Egypt will feature as the central partner country of this year's Forum. Top business and government representatives from Egypt have announced their participation.

Following the official opening on June 15th, three plenary sessions and seven workshops will discuss German-Arab cooperation in essential areas.

This will include IT & Telecommunications, the manufacturing industry, infrastructure, environment & water, power & petrochemical industry, financial services & investment opportunities. A Gala Dinner will be held on June 17.

Germany has been one of the main beneficiaries from the economic boom in the Middle East in the recent past. This will ensure a particular interest in the forthcoming Ghorfa business summit.
