Million-dollar distribution and franchise deals define closing day at MOTEXHA Spring 2005

MOTEXHA Spring 2005 confirmed its position as the region's premier trade event for the textile, garment and leather industry as exhibitors reported lucrative distribution and franchise partnerships.
Playboy (UK), manufacturers of stylish bags, scarves and hats has signed a lucrative deal with a well-known distributor for the UAE and will soon be placed in retail outlets across the emirates.
CYGNET Manufacturing, makers of JBS brand swim wear said MOTEXHA exceeded their expectations as they received huge interest from potential distribution clients in the UAE, Kuwait, Iran and Saudi Arabia. CB Brands International FZE, a German brand of stylish orthopedic shoes have received proposals from wholesalers in the UAE, Saudi, Iran and Iraq, as well as closed a lucrative deal with a client from Kuwait.
Matthias Paulowski of 3DELUX manufacturers of acrylic shopping displays and high-end lighting systems for retail outlets, said, "We were delighted to use MOTEXHA as a way to gauge the retail industry in Dubai. We see a huge growth opportunity here following the construction of new malls across the emirate. The increase in retail space has created demand for contemporary and eye-catching product displays, and we plan to open our own office here soon."
"As a trade platform in a multi-cultural city like Dubai, MOTEXHA opens doors to more than just the Arab world. The large population of expatriate traders has made international markets such as Germany, the UK, East and Central Europe as well as Asia easier to access," Manian continued.
Confirming this is Paola Ciccarelli, Sales Manager of GIORGIO FABIANI glamorous Italian footwear: "We also plan to open a business outlet in Dubai as this will open the door to the entire Middle East. Dubai is a rich market, well-suited for our mid-to high-end footwear. Interestingly, we also met traders supplying to Russia and China, which proves that Dubai is a central source market to access several international countries."
Janine womens's apparel from Turkey received distribution and franchise queries from Jordan, KSA and in particular, Iran. They had a successful show and topped their US$ 70,000 sales figures from last year's show. Calonge, manufacturers of exclusive leather, hand woven shoes and bags received franchise enquiries from Saudia Arabia and Kuwait. They are in discussion with Italian company Martini Caponi, and are expecting deals amounting to US$ 130, 000 to come in through contacts made at the show.
Other successful exhibitors include UNIMAR swimwear from Italy who are in negotiations with an Iranian distributor to target the Gulf region, Stephanie & Mediac (France) who have sold several samples for their apparel accessories fashion to tailors and embroiders and Gardo Collection high-fashion apparel who registered huge interest from the UAE, Saudi, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt, and are expecting deals up to US$ 150,000 to be confirmed shortly. They also received a potential enquiry from a client supplying to the royal family.
Many exhibitors have already confirmed their participation at MOTEXHA Autumn 2005. The show will be held from September, 12-15, 2005.
