"GIB retained its mantle as the dominant regional structured finance player, coming first in the annual MEED league table of GCC banks for the fourth consecutive year," according to MEED magazine, which monitors the project finance market in the region.
"Also notable is the diversity of GIB's mandates, which include a liquefied natural gas ship borrowing, an aircraft financing and deals in the petrochemicals and hydrocarbons sectors. There is every indication that the bank's regional dominance of the market will continue," MEED indicated in a recent issue.
GIB has also topped Dealogic ProjectWare's regional mandated arranger and provider table in the MENA region for 2004. Dealogic is a global database covering project finance deals.
