Intel Software College launched in the Middle East

Intel today launched the first Intel Software College in the Middle East, with an aim to extend the value of Intel architecture, and encourage software professionals to expand their expertise on Intel platforms.

The Intel Software College will cater to a diverse range of audiences including software developers, manufacturers, vendors, consultants and educational institutions.

The Intel Software College, part of the global offerings of Intel Software & Solution Group (SSG) held its first training event in the Middle East at Intel's Energy Competency Center in Abu Dhabi. This High Performance Computing class (HPC) represented a full instructor-led training experience with hands-on laboratories to cover cluster setup from building to benchmarking, as well as application tuning for clusters. The interactive classroom size and collaborative setting provided all participants with a rich learning experience.

"Around the world, Intel's Software & Solution Group (SSG) focuses on developing and promoting comprehensive software development products and services to educate and enable industry professionals to work with Intel platforms; and the Intel Software College is a an integral component of our outreach programme" said Sam Al-Schamma, Intel's general manager in the GCC. "Our aim is to help accelerate worldwide strategic enabling and adoption of Intel tools and technologies through expert-level laboratory training."

The Intel Software College will help regional developers to optimise Intel Architecture by using the correct Intel tools to their fullest potential. This proven form of training will also offer support and guidance with tested methods of optimising software performance, code samples, tools and troubleshooting techniques, in a strategic move to foster best application performance.

The curriculum at Intel Software College covers 32 and 64-bit computing, threading, multi-core, compiling and more. The courses will be delivered at convenient training locations around the region, selected for their adherence to the highest standards. In addition, Intel Software College offers customised on-site training to fit a customer's specific needs as well as hundreds of on-demand, self-paced online courses and on-demand webcasts.

Around the world, Intel Software College has diverse customers that range from Independent Software Developers (ISVs) to Fortune 500 companies, Original Equipment and Design Manufacturers (OEMs and ODMs), Operating System Vendors (OSVs) and educational institutions as well as independent developers and consultants.
