New York based Direct Marketing Association to make Middle East debut at Direct Marketing 2005
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, April 18 - 2005 at 13:21
- PRESS RELEASE
The Middle East region's first conference and exhibition for the direct marketing industry will be held from the June 11 to 15, 2005, at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Dubai.
Direct Marketing 2005, which will be opened by H.E. Sultan Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Communications and Chairman of Emirates Post, will identify the key factors for success in meeting consumer and business needs in the Middle East region and examine both regional and international initiatives. This leading edge conference with interactive workshops is complemented by an exhibition, which has already attracted major regional and international industry heavyweights.
Commenting on the event, Steven Jones, Conference Director, Direct Marketing 2005 said, "The concept of direct marketing is by no means new, but its significance has increased remarkably in the recent past, especially in rapidly developing markets such as the Middle East. The extremely competitive market situation has forced marketers to explore alternative channels other than the traditional routes to market such as media advertising."
"Direct Marketing 2005 will provide the perfect platform for both regional and international industry experts to discuss current challenges and issues, international best practice and the latest industry developments, providing practical and effective examples and case studies, covering B2B marketing, B2C marketing, creative, CRM, database marketing, direct mail, E-marketing, tele-services and multi-channel marketing," added Jones.
"The importance of this event to the region is amplified when we take into account the changing demographics in the Middle East where over 50 per cent of the population is under 18 years. Reacting to the changes in this market will prove to be one of the biggest challenges faced by marketers for years to come and it is the aim of the DMA to benchmark international standards and best practice throughout the industry" said Charles Prescott, Vice President, International Business and Government Affairs, Direct Marketing Association, USA.
"The rewards however for the most successful organisations will be significant, how many other affluent marketplaces are growing by 16,000 consumers each day?" concluded Prescott.
The event also has an unrivalled line-up of speakers from CIM, FEDMA, Emirates Post, Xerox, Johns Hopkins Medicine Interactive and Audi, industry specialists ProAct World, Arc Worldwide, Air Miles, Ogilvy One, ICLP, Bates PanGulf, and Your Best Year Yet! In addition some of the most influential figures in direct marketing today, such as Andy Owen, Simon Hammond, Ron Jacobs and Ruth Stevens, will share their considerable experience and expertise.
