  • United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, April 19 - 2005 at 13:42
  • PRESS RELEASE

Under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman, Department of Civil Aviation, Abu Dhabi and Chairman, Etihad Airways, the Global Airport Expansion Congress will be held for the first time in the UAE's Capital from the 17th April to 19th April at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi Resort and Towers.

The current trend of airport expansion to meet the needs of the 21st Century has not missed the Middle East with countries such as Bahrain, Qatar and UAE spending millions to satisfy the demands of increased air traffic in their regions.

Recognising the importance of this trend, naseba, who specialise in producing tailored events, have organised the first Global Airport Expansion Congress. The Congress provides the opportunity for leading international suppliers to meet with decision makers in the airport industry on a one to one basis.

The Global Airport Expansion Congress will focus on seven specialised categories including Airfield Construction and Installation, Airside Technical Systems, Terminals, Ground Handling, Security Equipment and Services, Air Traffic Management and Information Technology Solutions.

As well as the one to one meetings between senior level buyers and global suppliers, the three day event will provide workshops and opportunities for networking with 200 senior representatives from airports from around the world. There will also be opportunities to network with Civil Aviation Authorities and Airlines. The speakers at the event will include prominent Airport Officials, Leading Industry Consultants and Airport Corporate Executives.

Mr Scott Ragsdale, CEO, naseba said: "We took the strategic decision to hold this first Global Airport Expansion Congress in Abu Dhabi, and not in Dubai, as the importance of Abu Dhabi as a centre for business is becoming more noticeable around the world. We have been very impressed with the infrastructure in Abu Dhabi and the support we have received for this Congress."

naseba is also organsing the MICE Middle East Congress for the first time in Abu Dhabi, which has a proven track record after being held in Monaco, Miami Beach and Singapore. MICE Congress will be held at Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi from 23rd April to 25th April.
