Ali and Sons inks sponsorship deal with Zelan Group of Malaysia

Abu Dhabi:

The sponsorship is a flagship initiative for Zelan Group of Malaysia to join the booming engineering, construction, manufacturing and trading, and property development in the country, and eventually in the Middle East. Following the formalities of the agreement, an Abu Dhabi office is being set-up and would be the first in the region to represent the Malaysian firm.

Ali and Sons is optimistic that the agreement with Zelan will further strengthen its relations in the international market. "The sponsorship is important to Ali & Sons', having one of the biggest player in Malaysia establish business in the UAE through our company. It will definitely boost our position in the local industry and is delighted to represent Zelan with its business dealings in the country" said Mr. Shames Bin Ali Al Dhaheri, Managing Director at Ali and Sons Co.L.L.C (Trading and Contracting Divisions) .

The Zelan Group of Companies is wholly owned company by Tronoh Consolidated Berhad, a public company listed in the Kuala Lumpur stock exchange. Its three strategic business units are involved primarily in engineering and construction, manufacturing and trading, and property development.

It has a successful track record of working with some of the world's most established Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors to build power plants and infrastructure projects such as Alstom (France), Siemens (Germany), Mitsubishi (Japan) and General Electric (USA). The UAE venture through Ali and Sons is the company's first in the Middle East where it plans to expand in the coming years. Currently, Zelan together with Japanese firm Sumitomo is the EPC contractor for the construction of 3x700MW coal fired power plant in Malaysia.
