Bin Sulayem meets Algerian officials

The Director General of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, recently received an Algerian delegation at the DTCM Head Office which is participating in the ongoing Festival of Cultures & Civilizations of World Deserts in Dubai.

The delegation was represented by Mr. Sharif Rahman, the Algerian Minister of Environment; Mr. Hameed Tamar, Counselor of the Algerian President and Mr. Abdul Hameed Bozaher, the Algerian Ambassador in the UAE.

Mr. bin Sulayem welcomed the delegation and praised the relations between both the countries.

He briefed them about the ongoing and new tourism projects in Dubai and tourism share in the emirate's GDP.

He also highlighted DTCM's marketing strategies its role in promoting the emirate throughout the world.

These developments, he said, has resulted in excess demand for hotels rooms versus the supply.
He praised the cooperation between the public and the private sector in Dubai and highlighted the cruise facilities at the Dubai Cruise Terminal in addition to the MICE facilities, hotel groups and tourism groups.

They also discussed tourism related and issues of bi-lateral interests and ways to strengthen relations between Algeria and the UAE in general and Dubai in particular.

On the other hand, Mr. Rahman conveyed the Algerian President's praise for Dubai and its developments.

Mr. Rahman also praised the opening of the Festival of Cultures & Civilizations of World Deserts and said that Dubai is a pioneer and leader of tourism in the Arab world.
He requested the department to cooperate with them in developing the tourism in Algeria.
