Mobily showcases 3G in GITEX 2005 Saudi Arabia

Participating for the first time, the company will showcase its products and services in a 600-m2, full-fledged stand designed to reflect the industry's avant-garde spirit.

The 3G demo will take place on 3G-enabled equipment placed inside two mobily-branded cars as well as on 3G-enabled mobile phone sets. Visitors will witness the dynamic 3G demo along with live transmission of some popular, free-to-air television channels. Mobily personnel will be available to address queries on products and services the company will soon be launching in the Saudi market.

In addition to the 3G technology due for launch by 2006 - making mobily the first to launch such service locally, on display will be the latest 2G mobile phone technology.

The 3G technology (short for third generation), brings along a revolution to the telecommunications industry. Its unique features enable callers to view each other in real time during the course of the call, identify a caller's position using GPS technology, and watch favorite satellite television channels.

A mobily information desk has been setup to field questions. The mobily stand will also feature VIP seating.

Mobily's participation in GITEX Saudi Arabia 2005 aims at reinforcing its presence in the Saudi market and endeavor to provide modern and advanced telecommunications services that match their counterparts worldwide.

GITEX 2005 is one of the most important regional and international telecommunications and information technology trade shows. More than 500 local and international companies exhibit their products and services to around half a million visitors who flock to this annual congregation.
