EMC showcases regional growth initiatives and ILM strategy at GITEX Saudi Arabia 2005

EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage and management, will use the GITEX Saudi Arabia 2005 exhibition to educate regional decision-makers about the concept of information lifecycle management (ILM) while highlighting the company's regional and channel expansion plans.

As an increasing number of regional businesses are relying on information management software to automate and administer heterogeneous storage environments, EMC will be focusing primarily on software at the GITEX Saudi Arabia 2005 exhibition. EMC recently introduced the world's first storage-aware content management platform - EMC Documentum Content Storage Services - to the Middle East region, and will be looking to build awareness of the new product in the Kingdom.

Following the opening of its new office in Riyadh, GITEX will provide a platform for EMC to meet with specific Saudi customer delegations, as well as new distributors and resellers from around the region.

Given the increasing competition and cost constraints faced by Saudi organizations, EMC's leading role in supporting effective information lifecycle management strategies has drawn significant comment. ILM ensures optimal management of a business' constantly growing wealth of information throughout its life, from creation and use to archiving and disposal.

Commenting on EMC's participation at the GITEX Saudi Arabia 2005, Mohammed Amin, regional manager for EMC Middle East said, "As demonstrated by the opening of our in-country office, as well as significant customer wins in Saudi, EMC is fully committed to the Saudi market. We hope to continue our success by using Saudi GITEX as a platform for singing further deals and meeting with our growing customer community."

He added, "EMC is focusing on expanding our channel community for both the enterprise and small- to medium-sized business markets. The GITEX exhibition is the ideal time to showcase EMC's information lifecycle management strategy to reduce costs and increase access to key information for Saudi decision-makers."
