Fourth year consecutive victory for the InterContinental Dubai at What's On Awards 2005

InterContinental Dubai scooped 2 awards for best restaurants and 3 additional finalist nominations.

In the past few years, the What's On Award has become a battlefield of survival for all the restaurants in the region. Since the number of outstanding dining venues has increased, the voters, who are the customers of these restaurants, are making it a tough competition to win. However the outcome is a great one, because only the best are recognized, making the What's On Award an honorary achievement.

Director of Food and Beverage, Scott Murray said, "We are very delighted and proud to have won the Best Arabian restaurant for Shabestan and the best Seafood restaurant for the Fish Market during the prestigious What's On Awards ceremony. What gives us real pride about being voted as winners is that we do our best to constantly provide good quality and service, but nevertheless, we owe all the appreciation to all our voters and guests who keep returning to our Food and Beverage outlets."

There were 27 main categories, ranging from the preferred restaurants, bars, clubs, sporting event to concert of the past year. The InterContinental Dubai was nominated in 5 categories, taking home two awards, in their victorious winning of Favourite Arabian Restaurant in Dubai for their traditional Persian restaurant Shabestan and Fish Market as the Favourite Seafood Restaurant in Dubai.

For the fourth year winning, Fish Market has had to beat tough competition to win the title of. From the unrivalled view of the Creek, to providing the Favourite Seafood restaurant freshest seafood prepared by a team of South East Asian Chefs, the Fish Market defines the ultimate seafood dining experience for customers.

Shabestan scoops the Favourite Arabian Restaurant award in Dubai, acknowledged by its exotic tastes and hospitality of Persia. Customers can enjoy the large selection of authentic Persian Cuisine in a traditional Arabian atmosphere created by selected music and décor.

The three other nominees from the InterContinental Dubai were runner - ups for finalists which were included in the category for Favourite Italian Restaurant in Dubai, the trendy and fashionable La Moda and stylish Japanese Minato for Favourite Japanese Restaurant in Dubai, and the 3rd runner - up finalist was InterContinental Dubai's own traditional English pub, The Pub.
