The new distribution partners, Aptec Gulf for the UAE and Bright Star Trading Company for Saudi Arabia, will help resellers bring the benefits of Avaya IP telephony solutions to SMEs across the region.

Demand for IP telephony is growing in the Middle East, with more and more small and mid-level organizations considering the move to IP-based solutions for their business communications. With these new distribution agreements, Avaya will be able to address this market segment with partners specialized in meeting the needs of the SMB space.

"The SMB sector in the UAE is always quick to embrace new technologies and IP telephony is no exception. With Avaya's IP Office offering, our reseller partners can now deliver an integrated communications platform for voice, data and multi-media to enhance productivity and performance goals for smaller businesses. Thanks to this agreement, we believe we can add true value to our resellers via Avaya's IP telephony product offerings and value added distribution," said Bahaa Salah, Regional Sales Director and General Manager Aptec Gulf.

"Avaya is a well established brand in the IP telephony sector, and we are very pleased to be adding its products to our portfolio. Our reseller partners across the Kingdom will now be able to offer their customers a complete Avaya IP communications platform offering enhanced features and helping to reduce costs, and we are confident that SMBs will be very interested in this proposition," said Ashaer Chowdhary, Business Development Manager, Bright Star.

Aptec and Bright Star will be providing selected Avaya telephony solutions, including the award-winning Avaya IP Office portfolio. IP Office is a suite of products specifically tailored to provide a total communications platform for businesses with up to 300 employees. IP Office has a wide range of features to match business requirements, including messaging, customer service, call attendant, productivity features, and conferencing. IP Office has already been deployed at over 60 sites in the UAE.

"We are very pleased to have signed Aptec and Bright Star as distribution partners," explained Youssef Sannan, Channel Manager, SMBS, Avaya Middle East and North Africa. "We see a lot of potential and interest in IP telephony coming from the SMB market. By partnering with Aptec and Bright Star, we are now able to tap into their expertise and capabilities in this sector and to prove the value of Avaya's solutions to SMBs."
