- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 27 - 2005 at 10:50
- PRESS RELEASE
Cadillac has introduced a new chapter in luxury motoring in the Middle East, with the arrival of its new luxury performance sedan, the 2005 Cadillac STS, in showrooms throughout the UAE.
"The Cadillac STS represents Cadillac's latest step towards developing vehicles with outstanding performance, exceptional quality and unquestionable reliability to meet the demands of the most discerning car buyer," said Fadi Ghosn, General Motors' Regional Marketing Manager for Premium Brands in the Middle East. "The STS is the eighth new vehicle to be added to the Cadillac portfolio since 2001."
Based upon the acclaimed Sigma architecture that also forms the basis of the successful Cadillac CTS Sedan and SRX SUV, the STS flaunts its Cadillac signature bold exterior styling. The product of unwavering attention to detail, the STS is a vehicle of outstanding fit and finish, refined performance and purposeful innovation - one which Cadillac is confident will be quickly embraced by the luxury set.
Technological appointments on the STS are plentiful, purposeful and driver oriented. Applications include a Keyless Access system with a push button start, Adaptive Remote Start system, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), reconfigurable, four-colour head-up display (HUD) heated and ventilated seats and heated steering wheel.
The name of the game for the 2005 Cadillac STS is performance: this striking vehicle is the first and only vehicle in the segment to offer All Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration. Customers will be offered a choice of two engines; standard equipment will include a 3.6-litre V6 with variable valve timing optional is Cadillac's 4.6-litre Northstar V8 engine.
While the STS is true to Cadillac's performance heritage, a number of chassis refinements ensure a smooth ride that keeps drivers fresh and comfortable without sacrifice to the driving experience. Road impacts and other harsh inputs are effectively absorbed and dissipated through ride-tuned tires, dampers, suspension components and bushings, as well as improved structure in body-to-chassis interfaces and additional refinements in the engine mounts.
Integrated chassis control technologies include two-mode Magnetic Ride Control with performance or touring selections, an available high-precision ZF steering gear and four-channel StabiliTrak.
The vehicle's technological backbone is a GM LAN Serial Data Electrical Architecture - a high-and low-speed data network that connects system and modules and ensures that information is properly communicated and shared between them.
Of particular note is the infotainment system. The cabin is immersed with 15 speakers from Bose Corporation. The Bose 5.1 Surround Sound system also has an integrated six-disc CD/DVD changer capable of playing DVD-A, CD and MP3. It includes an 8-inch VGA quality touch screen and advanced navigation. In addition, the system has Bluetooth capability and advanced voice recognition.
All 2005 and onwards Cadillac models come with a free service and maintenance package for 4 years or 100,000 (whichever comes first), in addition to around the clock roadside assistance and General Motors' patented bumper-to-bumper warranty. This unsurpassed care package offers 2005 Cadillac customers an unparalleled sense of security and total peace of mind, enhancing the overall Cadillac experience.
