Tour operators and hotel establishments to enhance partnership to boost Dubai image

A joint meeting was recently held between the Coordinators of the Travel and Tourism Group and Hotel and Hotel Apartment Group of the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) to discuss issues of concern to the tour operators in dealing with the hoteliers, especially at when the demand for hotel rooms is very high.

The attendees stressed on the importance of working as partners so that they will succeed not only in increasing their business but also in enhancing the image of the destination.

It was agreed that the operators will together draft a code of conduct between the tour operators and hotels' Sales and Marketing directors to adhere by, which would be discussed at a general meeting to be hosted by DTCM in June 2005.

The meeting was chaired by DTCM Director General Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem.
