Philips' MR/CT Road Show goes on tour
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, May 01 - 2005 at 10:43
- PRESS RELEASE
Royal Philips Electronics' MR/CT Road Show is scheduled to go on tour in Iran, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Kuwait, from Sunday, 1 May 2005.
The Road Show will include representatives from Philips Medical Systems who will present information on the latest developments in the world of MR and CT imaging. Two highly respected medical specialists, both authorities in their fields, are also on the team to present the clinical value of these developments.
"We want to help to improve healthcare in these countries and show our commitment to the region," says team member Hans Bossink, Director of Philips MR/CT for Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. "And, of course, we also want to remind our customers in the region of the added value Philips can offer them as a supplier of medical equipment and of the worldwide network of expertise available to them as customers of Philips."
The Road Show will also highlight Philips flagship products, which include the new Philips Achieva 3.0T MR scanner and the Philips Brilliance CT 64-channel system. Both these systems have been developed by Philips to meet the growing demands in the market for high-field MRI and multi-channel CT systems. The short-bore Achieva 3.0T is the same size and has the same footprint as the familiar Intera 1.5 T and is already winning acclaim for its high signal-to-noise ratio, high spatial-resolution imaging and exceptionally fast scans. The Brilliance CT 64 channel is currently the most advanced system of its kind on the market and is expected to prove invaluable for demanding applications such as cardiology that require visualization of moving organs, or the diagnosis of acute conditions where speed of acquisition and fast reconstruction are crucial.
As well as Hans Bossink, the Road Show team will include Arindam Mukherjee, Head of Global Field Marketing for Philips MR, and James Meier, Field Marketing Manager for Philips CT. Completing the Road Show team specialists are Dr. Vincent R.A. Vandecaveye, of the University Hospital Leuven, Belgium who will be speaking on 3.0T MRI Whole Body Clinical Applications, and Professor Plinio Rossi, from the Casa di Cura Villa Margherita in Rome, Italy speaking on Breakthrough Performance in Philips Brilliance CT Scanners.
The Road Show is done in collaboration with the local distributor Atlas Medical, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
