DTCM organises workshops for Saudi travel agents

As a result of the growing interest in Dubai as an all appealing year-round tourism destination, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) representation office in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) recently organized a series of workshops on Dubai in Riyadh.

The three workshops helped update the Saudi travel trade professionals on the emirate's numerous attractions and fast ongoing developments in addition to highlighting the increase in flight connections between the two destinations.

The workshops highlighted Dubai as a fast-growing business and leisure destination and updated the attendees on the major upcoming projects in Dubai. It was attended by 60 tour agents from Riyadh.

According to DTCM Director Overseas Representation office in Saudi Arabia Mr. Aly El Zayat, "The workshops were hugely successful with the attendees who were impressed with the richness of the presentation. In addition, they expressed their satisfaction on learning about the new and upcoming projects, especially the hotel projects that will grace the emirate's breathtaking skyline."

The presentation included major development projects including the Dubailand, Dubai Festival City and Mall of the Emirates among others. In addition, a brief on future hotel properties was the highlight of the discussion.

The number of Dubai hotel establishment guests from Saudi Arabia has seen a year-on-year increase. The year-on-year growth in Saudi guests to Dubai hotels strongly reflects the growing bonds between the two AGCC member-states.Dubai hotels recorded seven percent growth in Saudi guests in 2004 with nearly half a million staying with the Dubai properties..
