The organizer of the three events, Globalpharma, a subsidiary of Dubai Investments PJSC, invited internationally renowned specialist, Dr. Enrico Balli, M.D. from the Coronary Care Unit at Della Robbia Hospital in Italy to share his knowledge and expertise with local healthcare professionals.

Atenolol is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. It also is used to prevent angina (chest pain) and treat heart attacks. Atenolol is in a class of medications called beta blockers. It works by slowing the heart rate and relaxing the blood vessels so the heart does not have to pump as hard.

Dr. Balli's presentation included information on the clinical application of Atenolol in patients with conditions such as hypertension, angina and myocardial infarction (heart attack).

Dr. Balli says, "I am delighted to have been presented with the opportunity to share best practice with colleagues in the Middle East. The treatment of cardiovascular disease continues to present significant challenges to healthcare practitioners across the globe. Continued education is essential to maintain and whenever possible, improve standards of care."

Dr. Maged Amer, Acting General Manager, Globalpharma adds, "The knowledge of an internationally renowned specialist such as Dr. Balli is invaluable for the continuing development of healthcare in the UAE. Globalpharma is proud to support the education of local UAE based practitioners, which we hope, will ultimately provide better cardiac care for patients."
