- PRESS RELEASE
After the success of Qatar Today, Oryx Publishing & Advertising Co., one of Qatar's oldest and most respected media houses, has announced the launch of Qatar Al Yom, the country's first Arabic news, business and lifestyle magazine.
Several stories and articles of Qatar Today were being translated and carried by the Arabic media and seeing this strong demand, the group decided to launch the title in May. Though Qatar Al Yom follows the same content format, the edit style and specific topics will be tailored to appeal to an Arabic reading audience.
Speaking about the brand Mr. Ravi Raman (Manager Oryx Publishing) said "What sets the magazine apart is the mix of articles, modern design and writing style, something that will stand out of the clutter. Readers will experience an international look & feel in a locally produced title."
The group has aggressive plans to promote the magazine by event sponsorships, road shows and mass advertising. The English edition has already crossed a circulation figure of 20,500 copies per month and the initial print run for Qatar Al Yom is kept at 15,000.
