- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, May 05 - 2005 at 16:40
- PRESS RELEASE
ACCOR, one of the world's largest hotels and services groups has made a commitment to promote its Sustainable Development policy in the Middle East.
ACCOR has chosen "Malongo" coffee as it carries the "Max Havelaar" stamp of approval, a label that guarantees that coffee producers receive a good price for their crops, which in turn helps improve their living standards and working conditions.
In keeping with common guidelines and backed by the ACCOR Sustainable Development policies, each region determines which actions are most relevant in view of opportunities and local issues. ACCOR opted for a global, pragmatic policy which is included at every level of its businesses.
ACCOR Middle East is gradually introducing Sustainable Development practices such as providing environmental awareness training for employees, introduce elements of the sustainable development purchasing charter, the ACCOR environment charter and fair labour practices.
