KV seeks to increase awareness of international education opportunities with Open Day event

Dubai Knowledge Village (KV), the region's leading educational cluster, opened its doors this week to students of UAE-based high schools seeking international higher education opportunities within the region.
The initiative demonstrated the education opportunities at KV's growing number of prominent international universities, to students of UAE high schools.
Dubai Knowledge Village is home to 15 prominent international universities representing nine different countries, providing UAE-based students quality international education within the region. Collectively KV institutions offer undergraduate, postgraduate, MBA and PhD programmes of study as well as numerous training courses.
The visiting high school students attended presentations representing a variety of university programmes and specialisations. Afterwards the group enjoyed a tour of the university campuses located at KV.
"KV now offers a wealth of international academic institutions and programmes of study and places itself as a strong alternative to going overseas to study," said Dr Abdulla Al Karam, CEO Dubai Knowledge Village. "We held the Open Days to enable UAE-based students to experience first-hand the opportunities available to them at our universities. In addition, the initiative sought to encourage linkages between regional high-schools and the KV community," he added.
Due to it success, KV announced it will make the initiative a biannual event, open to students of all UAE schools. Parents of the students will also be invited.
The next Open Day event is scheduled in early October. These will give students the opportunity to gain further awareness of KV's diverse university offerings.
Dubai Knowledge Village recently announced Dubai Knowledge Universities, an expansion of its campus. The mega-campus is expected to house 30 universities and 40,000 students by 2010. The first phase of the initiative is due for completion in July 2006.
