Users can now monitor their laundry from a distance. LG has installed power line communication modems in its high-end drum type washing machines, which connect to LED display panels placed in the living room, or anywhere else in the home, allowing users to monitor the washing machines. The remote controls provide functions such as starting and pausing operations, and selecting different wash options.

"People want a more efficient and convenient way to find out if and when an error occurs in the washing process, or when the washing is finished. With the remote panel installed in the living room or the kitchen, consumers can monitor their washing more conveniently. This is a convenient and smart way to utilise technology," said C H Lee, President, LG Electronics Gulf FZE.

LG hopes such high-end, market leading products will add value to its washing machines, and drive sales of the company's premium products.

"Our remote monitoring front loader washing machines are a perfect example of LG's dedication to help making our customers' lives easier, more convenient, and ultimately better. We believe this philosophy helps us maintain our lead in the highly competitive high-end premium market," added Lee.

LG has been adding innovative technological features to its home appliance products to keep pace with customer demands. For instance, the loading chamber of LG washing machines have an ergonomic tilt to allow stress free loading and unloading of laundry.
