  • PRESS RELEASE

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) hosted the largest number of hosted buyers and media visitors during the recently held Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2005) which concluded yesterday (May 6, 2005).

The missions numbering 42 comprised 174 hosted buyers and media visitors from 14 countries including the AGCC countries, Spain, Lebanon, Egypt and the countries where the DTCM has its offices.

According to DTCM Manager Missions Mr. Hamad bin Mejren, "This was the largest number of hosted buyers and media visitors ever hosted by the department during the ATM. I am positive that this will go a long way in highlighting the emirate's attractions and result in an increase in the number of visitors from these countries."
The delegation members were impressed with Dubai and the wonderful developments taking place besides what the emirate had to offer to the visitors from across the world.

The department assisted them in various ways, including arranging visits to popular landmarks and ongoing projects and offering them opportunity to enjoy the facilities.
In addition, they enjoyed a serene Dhow cruise along the Dubai Creek, a thrilling Desert Safari and a Dubai tour.

Held between May 3 and 6, the 12th edition of the Middle East's premium travel trade gathering was utilized by the department to promote Dubai through a 623 square metre stand - 20% bigger than the previous year - shared by 99 co-participants.
