Etisalat Platinum Sponsor of Turkish-Arab Forum

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- announced that it participated and was Platinum Sponsor of the Turkish-Arab Forum organized by the Al Iktissad Wal Amal Group in Istanbul, Turkey.
Obeid Bin Mes'har, Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat International, said: "We were eager to be a part of such a groundbreaking initiative to boost investmenty between Arab states and Turkey. Apart from being Platinum sponsors, we are also participating in the event with a stall at the exhibition venue. We also took up the opportunity of being here to back up our interest in buying 55 per cent of Turkey Telecom."
Ahmed Bin Ali, Etisalat's Manager for Public Relations, said: "Etisalat Academy showcased its state-of-the-art training facility in the UAE that provides training to corporations and individuals. The Academy is experienced in handling international training programmes, and even trains the personnel for the new corporations set up by Etisalat like Etihad Etisalat in Saudi Arabia and Kanartel in Sudan."
"EDCH, another of our business units that conducts international business, provides the single source of support for the roaming facility provided by Etisalat. EDCH has an impressive list of clients, and is a regular participant in international events and industry meets. Their capabilities and expertise make them the preferred partner for operators across the Middle East and Africa".
"After having produced over 200 million smart cards in 2004, Ebtikar participated by displaying some of the latest products for mobile phones. The new SIM card for 3G subscribers has 64kb EPROM, and works on all GSM networks. This feature makes the card ideal for modern mobile phones, allowing customers to upgrade from 2G to 3G without having to replace the SIM card", added Bin Ali.
Etisalat officials also hosted a luncheon for all participants on the first day of the forum. Around 600 participants attended this luncheon, and the head of Etisalat's delegation, Obeid Bin Mes'har addressed the gathering.
Senior diplomats, business leaders in banking, finance and other industries, various regional experts and many other persons and institutions concerned with Turkish-Arab trade and relations attended this Forum. Seminars, industry discussions and an exhibition on the sidelines comprised the main activities.
