The show will take place at the Qatar International Exhibition Center (QIEC) in Doha, and will open to visitors from May 9th to May 12th 2005, from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM daily.
'The tourism industry is growing in the entire region and Diyafa is a critical event. It is not just an exhibition but a meeting point - a network - for the entire region,' said Fadi Jreissati, General Manager of IFP Qatar.
'Diyafa 2005 has received overwhelming support from the Qatari and international business community. Hundreds of local, regional and international exhibitors are taking part in the first hospitality exhibition staged in Qatar.' he added.
Diyafa 2005 guests and visitors will include hotel owners, general managers, purchasers, developers, management companies, engineers, chefs, caterers, architects and interior designers, and many other major establishments that make up the event's primary audience. The event will also gather professionals allowing them to introduce their latest product innovations while exploring new partnership opportunities.
'Qatar's hospitality industry is experiencing a revolution due to the population increase, high levels of disposable income and new life style trends. In the next ten years the Government in Qatar is spending $15 billions that will place it as a global tourist destination,' underlined Jreissati. The new projects include a $5.5 billion new airport, $2.5 billion man-made island 'Pearl of the Gulf' and more than 37 hotels in and around Doha.
For the first time in Qatar, a 'Salon Culinaire' will be held during Diyafa 2005. The jury will be headed by the internationally renowned French Chef Yves Thuries. Professionals in the food art industry will compete and show their savoir- faire and experience in the culinary world. The 'Diyafa 2005 Salon Culinaire' will be a unique opportunity for hospitality and catering companies, and for food suppliers, to meet, witness and enjoy the event,' added Jreissati
The show is promoted extensively across Qatar and the GCC region to trade buyers. On this occasion, IFP Qatar has published a special newsletter which comprised articles and interviews with prominent players in the hospitality sector. More than 3,000 copies of this newsletter have already been distributed to embassies, commercial organizations and top industry players in Qatar and the region.
