Dubai hotels benefit from DTCM workshop

The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) recently conducted a workshop on 'Effective Yield Strategies' for all the leading hotels in the emirate.
The DTCM Manager Human Resources, Mr. Ibrahim Yaqoot, said: " The department has been working towards enhance the performance of Dubai hotels in all possible areas not only to ensure that the visitors get the best experience but also to help the properties get the best business."
The increased demand in Dubai hospitality sector has put yield strategies under spotlight.
The workshop was attended by representatives from Hyatt, Intercontinental, Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, Le Meridien, Sheraton, Movenpick, Jumeirah International, Rotana, Metropolitan (Habtoor Hospitality) and Jebel Ali hotel chains.
Ms. Shreeni, Revenue Manager, Le Meridien Dubai, said: "We thoroughly enjoyed the seminar as it only gave us a lot of new ideas but also gave us the chance to interact with other hotels in the city."
"Yield is a very important issue for all Dubai hotels and this was a wonderful opportunity for us to learn more about yield management and communicate with," said Mr. Robert Clark of InterContinental Hotel Dubai.
IFH has been working in the Middle East market for the past two years and is the first company which is providing open venues for hotels to send its staff for various operational training programmes.
