Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, the full-service brand of the leading hospitality company, Rezidor SAS Hospitality, received three awards during the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Travel Awards held at the Al Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai recently.
The Royal Hall can cater for up to 2,000 guests and regularly hosts banquets, weddings and conferences for Jordan's elite. For smaller events, the 260-room property offers a choice of a further 15 fully-equipped, multi-purpose conference and banqueting rooms, as well as two executive meeting rooms with panoramic views over Amman.
"This prestigious award is a reflection of our commitment to providing guests with the very best in banqueting and conference facilities," said Sami Ansari, General Manager - Jordan. "We will definitely participate next year and will use the next 12 months to expand and enhance our services."
The Radisson SAS Hotel, Kuwait, received an award for the 'Best 5 Star Business/ Corporate Hotel'.
A well-established property among business travellers, expatriates and nationals alike, the hotel is renowned for its extensive choice of unique restaurants and entertainment. The Al Bustan all day restaurant, the Polynesian restaurant, Kontiki, the Al Boom steakhouse onboard a traditional Kuwaiti dhow and the Chinese Peacock restaurant have all earned a reputation as some of Kuwait's finest dining options.
The Radisson SAS Hotel, Kuwait, offers a unique location for meetings and events on the world biggest dhow, the Al-Hashemi II.
The third property to receive recognition was the Radisson SAS Resort, Taba, in the category 'Best Environmental 5-star Hotel'. The beautiful resort, which sits on the banks of the Red Sea in Egypt, carries out its own extensive Responsible Business (RB) activities, supported by Rezidor's corporate RB campaign which gained international recognition after winning the Worldwide Hospitality Award for Environmental Protection & Sustainable Development last year.
"Last month for the global 'Earth Day', we distributed lunch packs, decorated by children with a 'Save The Planet' theme to guests who were travelling on excursions," said Johan Aschan, General Manager, Radisson SAS Resort,Taba. "Each month we have a different activity focusing on social and environmental issues. Last year, for example, we initiated the smoking-free days at our resort. The results were so successful that we rolled the scheme out across all our Middle East properties."
The annual MENA Travel Awards aim to achieve excellence by recognising and rewarding the efforts made by industry members and encourages even higher standards within the region. The 18 categories cover all aspects of the travel industry, from top-end hotels to golf courses, spas and car rental professionals.
"These awards are an excellent way of measuring performance against others and motivating the industry to strive towards higher standards," said Jean-Marc Busato, Vice President, Rezidor SAS Hospitality Middle East. "Nominees are judged by end users and travel trade professionals which means that the awards help us to learn more about what our guests want."
