The department was represented by Mr. Awadh Al Seghayer, Director Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) which is affiliated to the DTCM and Mr. Khalid bin Nassar, DTCM Officer Overseas Promotion. Mr. Al Seghayer delivered a presentation highlighting the successful and strong image Dubai has steadily built and enhanced in the past.

He said: "We feel that the Forum was a good platform to continue on what we have built as a base for Dubai and the UAE in the past 15 years. The enhancement for Dubai is to get the benefit to the private sector. We also enhanced the development by contacting the people in the German market and followed-up for future projects in Dubai and the UAE."

The excellent work of DTCM in Germany in laying the foundations for such events like the Partnership Forum came to the fore during this exhibition which not only signified trade and economy levels between the two countries, but also had a new dimension of investment, tourism and cultural progress.

The main objective behind this exhibition was to boost the flow of investment, increase the bilateral trade and to facilitate higher degree of contacts between businessmen in all the countries.

The exhibition maintains its ground from its success last year to aiming at higher prospects and targeting organisations from all over the Emirates. This development gives leverage to the event as speakers and exhibitors from the UAE represented the country and its various opportunities that are waiting to be explored.

The Forum consisted of a multitude of VIP speakers from the UAE and their German counterparts, explaining topics ranging from Investment to Tourism, Health Care and Medical Services and Information Technology. It was a combination of trade, business, tourism, property management, investment and economic portfolios.

The UAE delegation comprised 22 exhibitors including government departments and corporations, free zones in the UAE, government industrial projects, real estate investment companies, commercial banks and investment corporations, financial and investment parks, investment funds and portfolios and private companies.

The Dubai - Germany Economic Partnership Forum 2004 attracted over 1,400 professional participants from all over Germany and its neighbouring countries, spelling its success to be the first ever event of its kind to have such a tremendous response. It attracted 25 exhibitors from Dubai showcasing their products in addition to more than 4,000 trade visitors from Germany and the neighbouring countries.
